Animation 2A: Sem 1, Week 8

This week I focused on creating the intro and animating the cat clock. I decided to animate the clock hand, eyes and tail moving with After Effects by setting and adjusting position keyframes instead of drawing the actual keyframes. Unfortunately, this did result in quite a stiff animation however I will most likely adjust it before the summative submission. I did end up finishing the clock and intro earlier than I was expecting so I also started animating the elderly man but I didn't get that much done. 

One thing that I really struggled with was getting the intro scene with the title to look less flat. After experimenting with a few different brushes to give the shapes some texture and I ended up settling on the spray brush. I am hoping to also use that brush on the elderly man but that is something that I will be doing later as at the moment I'm focusing on getting the main animation done.

Animation 2A: Sem 1, Week 7

 This week I focused on getting the storyboard done for the new project. I didn't have to do any character planning before making the storyboard as I decided to reuse the man from my Cup of Coffee project. As for the second character, I decided that there wasn't any need to plan them as I would be using pixilation. After last week's discussion, I also decided to kill two birds with one stone so I added the 2nd sequence from the Cup of Coffee project at the beginning but shortened it. As usual, I started by filming myself going through the actions in order to capture the keyframes. To save time animating I tried to keep the elderly man in a similar position for the first half of his sequence and mostly focused on his facial expression to convey his irritation. Some of the bits may change as I continue working on the project but the general idea will most likely remain the same.
