Over the last week, I've been trying to film the pixilation clips for the sequence. However, I was quite unsatisfied with the results. They really didn't work as well as I was expecting, so I decided to go back to the drawing board and see what I could change. I ended up scrapping the entire previous pixilation storyboard and came up with a new idea that would be easier to film and would work a little better. Instead of a party happening next door, it will be a person playing horror movies at a very loud volume. This would also allow me to get a bit more creative with the props, so I went ahead with the new idea.

After working on the pixilation, I went back to working on the hand-drawn animation. I coloured the frames that I had already done the lineart for and edited some frames. At this stage I also cut out some bits of animation as I felt that they were a little unnecessary.
Following this, I began working on the sound for the rest of the animation. As usual, I started by finding the sounds I would need on YouTube and freesound.org. After this, I imported them into Premier, cut them up, changed the pitch/speed and placed them in the correct places on the timeline. I also cut out several clips I had previously made, such as more clips of the movie playing on the laptop, as I felt that they were quite unnecessary.
Overall, I don't really like what I had made but I think I still gained valuable experience and had a chance to reflect on what I could improve on. An example of this would be making the hand-drawn animation less static, simplifying character designs and being better at time management so that I could add more to the project. Although doing pixilation was an interesting challenge, I don't think I will use it for future course projects. Instead, I might experiment with it in my own free time until I gain some more confidence working with the medium.
